As I have learned to shape wood, from rough cut logs suitable only for the fire, to shining musical instruments which spring to life in the hands of a musician, I ask that love shall shape me, and that you will be the musician whose hands shall play love's song on my soul.
As I have learned to shape metal, with heat and hammer, making it beautiful in its strength and utility, I ask that love shall shape me, so that you may look upon me with love's eyes.

As I have learned to shape clay, with warmth and gentle coaxing, into a vessel for water, I ask that love shall shape me, so that I may be a vessel for love from which you may drink so that you shall never go thirsty.

As I have learned to shape the materials of this world, into the shelter in which we live, I ask that love shall shape me, so that I may be your shelter from the harsh winds of this world.

As I have learned to shape fabric, from rolls of cloth stacked in a dusty warehouse, to elegantly flowing gowns which bring joy to the hearts of those who choose them, I ask that love shall shape me, and that I may bring joy to your heart which has chosen me.

As I have learned to shape color, on paper and fabric, to communicate feelings without words, I ask that love shall shape me, so that we may live in true communion.

As I have learned to shape beads, with wire and string, harmoniously joining metal, glass, and stone, I ask that love shall shape me, so that we may be joined in harmony.

As I have learned to shape the materials of this world, into the clothes which comfort our bodies, I ask that love shall shape me, that I may be your comfort through the harsh winds of this world.​​
